Summary :
In the distant future, long after Caesar’s time, a young ape sets out on a journey that shakes up everything he’s been taught about the past. Along the way, he faces tough choices that will shape the destiny of both apes and humans.
This new movie about apes takes place many years after the events of “War for the Planet of the Apes” in 2017. Apes now live in different societies, some thriving since Caesar led them to safety, while humans are struggling to survive in a more primal state. Some ape groups don’t even know about Caesar, while others have twisted his teachings to build their own empires.
In this world, one ape leader starts enslaving other groups to find human technology, while another ape, who witnessed his own clan being taken captive, sets off on a quest for freedom. A young human woman becomes crucial to his journey, though she’s got her own plans in mind.
It’s a story set many generations after Caesar’s time, where apes rule and humans hide in the shadows. As a new tyrant ape rises to power, a young ape faces a dangerous journey that forces him to question everything he knows about the past and decide the fate of both apes and humans.
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes Movie 2024
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes Movie is a new sci-fi action movie from America. It’s directed by Wes Ball and written by Josh Friedman. This movie comes after War for the Planet of the Apes in 2017. It’s part of the series that started with Planet of the Apes. This one is the fourth movie in the reboot series and the tenth overall.
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes Movie stars Owen Teague as the main character. Other actors include Freya Allan, Kevin Durand, Peter Macon, and William H. Macy.
The idea for this Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes Movie started in April 2019 when Disney bought 20th Century Fox. Wes Ball was chosen to write and direct it in December of that year. They worked on the script a lot during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Casting started in June 2022 after the script was finished. Owen Teague got the lead role in August of that year. The title of the movie and more actors were announced in the months that followed. Filming began in Sydney in October 2022 and finished in February 2023.
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes Movie will come out on May 10, 2024, in the United States.
Premise
In the story, it’s been 300 years since the happenings of “War for the Planet of the Apes Move.” Apes have built civilizations where Caesar guided them, but humans have gone back to being wild and basic. Now, the ape king Proximus Caesar misuses human-made weapons to control other groups, going against what Caesar taught. A chimp hunter named Noa and a human girl named Mae set out on a tough journey to decide what’s next for both apes and humans.

Production
Pre-production and writing
In October 2016, Matt Reeves, the director behind “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” (2014) and “War for the Planet of the Apes” (2017), mentioned that he had some ideas for a fourth movie in the Planet of the Apes series. He talked about how the character Bad Ape, played by Steve Zahn, showed there’s a whole world of apes beyond just Caesar’s group. He suggested that conflicts might arise if Caesar’s group encountered other apes who didn’t follow his leadership.
After Disney bought 20th Century Fox, they announced in April 2019 that more Planet of the Apes movies were in the works. They confirmed that these new movies would stay in the same universe as “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” (2011). In December, Wes Ball was announced as the writer and director for the upcoming film.
By February 2020, Ball confirmed that this movie wouldn’t be a reboot but would continue the story of Caesar’s legacy. Joe Hartwick Jr. and David Starke were also set to produce. Peter Chernin would be the executive producer. In April, it was revealed that Josh Friedman would co-write the script with Ball, and Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver would return to produce.
In March 2022, they were expecting to have a screenplay ready soon, aiming to start filming by the end of the year. By June, Oddball Entertainment and Shinbone Productions joined as producers, and they were looking for the main star. The movie’s title, “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes,” was announced in September 2022, set many years after the events of “War.
The movie is set in the “Dark Ages,” where apes rediscover lost things from the past. It takes place 300 years after Caesar’s death. The main character, Noa, is part of a nomadic ape tribe, inspired by Caesar’s message of unity. The antagonist, Proximus, aims to ensure the prosperity of apes, even if it means going against Caesar’s teachings. The filmmakers got inspiration from the movie “Apocalypto” (2006) for this new direction. The focus of the film is on Noa exploring the world for the first time.
